7 injured in 4 accidents

There were four accidents in Fond Du Lac County on Monday. One involved three cars colliding after one stopped on the highway and got rear ended by another. None of the people involved were seriously injured. Another was a motorcycle colliding with a car. the motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle and wasn't wearing a helmet. he was flown to a hospital in a helicopter but he was said to be in "good" condition Tuesday. Another was a guy trapped under a car he was working on and he was fine. ANd the last was a head on collision between two cars but they both had seatbelts and the airbags deployed and no one was injured.

The number of babies born with neonatal abstinence syndrome, (NAS) has tripled in the last decade. This means that babies are born being addicted to drugs due to their mothers abuse so they are going through withdrawals after they are born. symptoms include: irritability, difficulty feeding, difficulty breathing, and low birth weight. Scientists did tests on all the mothers who gave birth to babies with (NAS) and tests showed that not all mothers who were addicted had addicted babies and some of the mothers not addicted to opiates but were using them correctly also had babies with (NAS).

6 year old handcuffed after throwing tantrum

In Midgeville Georgia, a 6 year old girl was throwing a tantrum in the principals office and the principal called the police. She was handcuffed and brought to jail in the back of a cop car. The principal said she was tearing things off the walls, upending furniture, and knocked a shelf over on the principal and he got hurt. The child is suspended until the next school year starts.

Brett Favre signed with the Milwaukee Bucks. The deal is worth $1.43 billion and he is now the highest paid player ever in any sport in the world. Kim Jong Eun, North Korea's new leader agreed with the U.S to stop testing its uranium-enrichment program for bombs. But, the U.S had to give them 240,000 metric tons of food aid to do it. This is the first action between U.S and North Korea since Kim Jong Il died and his son took over. A new life has been given to a plant found buried in a glacier. Apparently, this plant had life 32,000 years ago but died and a squirrel took its seeds and buried them. These seeds were just dug up and found by Russian scientists in a glacier and was re-planted from the DNA taken from the seed. In this up-coming season, the Green Bay Packers are planning on raising their prices on tickets to games. According to the team general manger it is not to increase a profit that is already pretty big, it is about staying among the middle of the pack in the NFL for ticket prices. They are not trying to be the most expensive or the least expensive but throughout all the NFL prices are rising and the Packers want to keep their place in the middle of the pack. In my opinion, I think this won't make a big difference in sales because the Packer fans in Wisconsin are true fans and will go to games no matter what and the stadium expansion will open up more seats available for more fans.

Last week in De Pere Wisconsin, a man named Denis Bay killed his wife, two kids, and then himself. No one has figured out why he did it yet but they are waiting for tests to see if he was under the influence of anything or on medical drugs. His daughter Andrea, was a freshmen at De Pere High School and his son Daniel, was a fourth grader. He had lost his job in March of 2011 and he and his wife were currently before the killings going through a divorce. The people of the school and town set up a roadside memorial for the whole family including the father. It is at the base of a stop sign on South Erie Street. The school has counselors going into the fourth grade classrooms and High School classrooms to help the students friends.

President Obama is calling for a $5-$10 billion dollar plan to help people refinance their home. Nearly 11 million people in America are underwater on their mortgages which means they owe more than their house is worth. Millions more have already lost their homes because of this. Obama's proposal still needs approval but would be open to people who have been current on their payments for the last six months and have no more than one missed payment in the prior six months. The administration also wants to broaden its Home Affordable Refinance Program, which wants to provide refinancing options to borrowers who are in trouble with payments and have no equity in their homes.

This past weekend there were two Conference Championship games; one in the NFC and one in the AFC.
Both games were decided by a field goal and each team who lost had big chances to win. In the Baltimore-New England game; the kicker Billy Cundiff missed a 32 yard field goal with 11 seconds left in the game to tie it. The coach after the game said he did not blame the kicker for losing the game but he was still upset about the loss. And in the San Francisco-New York game, the punt returner fumbled a punt in overtime which led to the Giants making a game winning field goal. Since the game, the returner has been receiving death threats.

Burger King is now delivering food to homes in two states, Virginia and Maryland. There are 9 stores in Maryland and 3 in Virginia. The restaurants are trying to only deliver within a ten minutes radius so that the food stays "fresh". They say that the meals must be at least $8-$10 with a $2 delivery fee and they don't deliver coffee, shakes, or breakfast food for some reason. Delivery hours are 11:00a.m-10:00p.m.  There isn't word yet of this spreading but this experiment is surely showing signs of future happenings. Soon, people will be able to eat unhealthy, greasy food without hardly walking.
